Elsi Marie was born from a desire to create for an aesthetic that felt missing, where timeless silhouettes meet unapologetic expression. Founder and designer Elsi Grabau set out to design the kind of clothing she couldn’t find: pieces that feel joyful, maximal, and deeply intentional.
At its core, Elsi Marie is rooted in the belief that fashion should evoke emotion, something that feels transformative when worn and leaves a lasting impression. Classic structure is reimagined through a maximalist lens, resulting in contemporary occasion-wear that is both striking and enduring.
Each piece is bespoke and made to order, crafted by Elsi Marie’s hand with an emphasis on technique, fit, and individuality. No two garments are exactly alike, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that feel personal, collectible, and entirely your own.
My journey in fashion design began early, back in fourth grade, asking my mom to draw croquis so I could sketch my ideas over them. What started as instinct quickly became something more intentional.
Since then, I’ve presented collections in regional fashion weeks, hosted pop-ups in New York City, and continue to build momentum with each new opportunity.
I am currently pursuing my BFA at the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in fashion design with an emphasis on special occasion. With every piece I create, I further refine my craft while continuing to shape and expand the world of Elsi Marie.
